Her gaze was fixed on a shadowed figure across the clearing. The silhouette stepped forward, a gash of light cutting across her features. The same woman, bound and gagged, or near enough to, mirrored in this shade. Yet, this one had a sense of pride and confidence.

After a long absence (due to not having the internet!) I finally logged onto deviantart and read a comment from you from October 2006~
Sorry about that. I'm really glad you enjoyed my short story and took the time to read it. In response to your question I got 50/50 for it. How did your critical response go?
